another hour of the (almost) coolest bands ever, never saw this bluesnoise band live, damn, offcourse this is John Brannon on vocals, love 'm |
bluesy garage rock from Memphis (again), offcourse this is living legend Jeffrey Evans' band, actually I think Memphis, Tennessee has more entries in the top 100 of this list then acclaimed Detroit, so international press you know where to go ... |
Memphis again, the frontmen of this and the previous band share a common history which we'll only hear just outside the top 10, we want the next president of the US to come from Memphis, and the next press-hype too (offcourse I know the international press is sleeping but hey I can blame 'm for it right ?) |
the highest surf-instro band on the list, great live-band, great tracks, excellent recordsleeves, a must for everybody, even surfhaters |
excellent liveband, great sing-along punkrock, the album where this is from is like a recipe of good punk and a recipe for a good party, gonna see 'm next thursday, ha! |
lovely vocals, I hear he now is in Queens Of The Stone Age, well I prefer 'm solo or in the Screaming Trees, still need to see him live ... |
indie lofi band with a noisy edge, great band doing their own thing really anywhere anytime, so they actually have a way more punk attitude then lots of punkbands, anyway I love 'm |
NYC borderline rock'n'roll band, I was very happy to release a 7" by 'm and they're cool as fuck |
offcourse (as said before) I now and then like some old stuff, this man last year was in great shape (I saw 'm live for the first time ever), this the band/artist with the most self-bought albums in my collection (actually I have more Dylan ones, but that's because my sister gave me her record collection) |
the fifth best noiseband in history (the best is at 15), this recording engineer-guy was in this band back in the eighties, great track |
the second oldest track on the list, this is his first single, released in 1948, my father was 2 then ... a must |
garagerock in it's bare essence, cool liveband, great outfits, great show, semi-obnoxious people, cool 7"es, San Francisco is in this list too |
the highest UK band, including living legend Billy Childish, for years the best UK band on the planet, now they're sadly defunct |
the fourth best noiseband in rockhistory, totally overlooked, well we all know rockhistory isn't exactly the best music-judge available..., excellent liveband |
I don't know if I need to call this a rock band with great songs/hooks, or a lo-fi band with some rock (especially live) added, anyway they're classic and from Ohio (again ..) |
pophistory ... blah blah blah, I love Jonathan Richman, this is from his first demo-recordings ever (I think), excellent catchy tune, the first Modern Lovers LP is a must |
a wellknown legend, great band |
the "better grunge band", ah bollocks, just a plain excellent band from Seattle too, this is their first 7", life doesn't get any better |
the third best noiseband in history, they blew me away back in 1991 (1990 ?) @ the Pukkelpop Festival, I guess the best live-concert I ever saw, at least the one with the highest impact ... and the best imitation of the sounds accompanying lightning and rolling thunder, if they'd play VERA again ... that sure would blow my roof off |
noisy swampy rock from NYC, all-star line-up, great liveband, come to think of it I think I didn't place 'm well, they should have been somewhat higher ... ah damn why is it that there only fit 10 bands in a top 10, I hate that |
